From there, it evolved into an artist's studio and storage, remaining raw and unfinished for years. It was only when Johnston Marklee, an architecture and design firm renowned for its expertise in galleries and retail spaces, took charge of the redevelopment project that the magic truly began.
Brent had the honor of touring the project alongside his friend Edward Lee, a prolific art collector, who said, "This gallery blows away anything else I've seen in LA – it feels more like a museum." Marian Goodman Gallery is set to make its Los Angeles debut with an exciting solo exhibition featuring renowned artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen. Running from September 23 to November 4, 2023, this exhibition will showcase the U.S. premiere of McQueen's immersive video installation titled "Sunshine State" from 2022. Following this, the gallery plans to present Cristina Iglesias' solo works in November, marking her first major exhibition in Los Angeles. Later in the winter season, exhibitions of Hiroshi Sugimoto and Tony Cragg are also on the agenda.
